Less than 1 month until entry into force for the new Type Approval Framework Regulation
As the framework directive 2007/46/EC as amended will be repealed and replaced by Regulation (EU) No. 2018/858 on 1st September 2020, I thought it would be useful to take a look at the new Regulation over the next few weeks.
The new Regulation which covers passenger cars, buses, vans, trucks and trailers; vehicles systems and components has been under development for nearly ten years and draws upon requirements already published for other vehicle categories including tractors and motorcycles as well as experiences from events such as the VW emissions scandal.

Whilst the technical requirements listed in Annex 2 of the new Regulation, which was published in checks on all parties in the type approval chain.
